This is Just Gross
Everyone knows that Texas is a ridiculously conservative state. That's a given. Especially after our wonderful governor's glad-handing with the secessionist movement a while back. But this is just taking it too far. This is probably worse than the Kansas biology text book decision regarding Intelligent Design. Science is the means by which we understand the fundamental natural laws that govern the workings of the universe, but an accurate picture of history (or as accurate as possible at least, given the anonymity of everything that happened before a couple hundred years ago) is essential for understanding how things came to be the way that they are in the human sphere. And now they're distorting it for political reasons. Teaching Chicago School economics to children? Revolting. Downplaying Thomas Jefferson just because he invented the term 'separation of church and state'? Hold on a second, I'm going to go vomit. Teachers in Texas need to do something. Organize, hold your union accountable for once. Put pressure on these dumbasses and get them to restore at least some semblance of historical truth to history education in the US.
